'''The After Burner''' was the first live-entertainment bottle clubthat featured rock music, and located in the Town and Country Plaza shopping center. It was owned and operated by model Sandra "Sana " Severin, whose husband Fritz was the lead singer for the house band Flame and The Heaters. It Sana's sister, Sharon, was employed as the bartender. The club was patronized mostly by off-work nightclub employees, musicians, and customers of Franco's Lounge, Machinegun Kelly's and 2001 Disco. Mobile's own Viper band also performed there one weekend while the Heaters had an out-of-town gig. After approximately two years in business,The After Burner closed in the fall of 1981.
