'''Marty Donovan''' (b. [[1950]]) is a former member of the [[Pensacola City Council]], representing [[City of Pensacola District 4. He was elected in May |District 4]] from [[2001]] to [[2008]].
Donovan, broker and owner of [[Donovan Realty]], is a graduate of [[Sacred Heart School]], [[Pensacola Catholic High School]] and Auburn University. A Pensacola resident since 1956, he is Co-Chairman of the [[Bayou Texar Foundation]] and a director of the [[Escambia Bay Marine Institute]], a school program for troubled teens. Involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Marty was the 1996 Big Brother of the Year.
Elected to the City Council in [[2001]], Donovan has also served on the City of Pensacola Citizens’ Committee for Bayou Texar/Carpenters Creek Storm Water Assessment, the Escambia County Citizens’ Task Force on Urban Storm Water Runoff, the City’s Code Enforcement Board and the [[Escambia County Zoning Board of Adjustment]].
Donovan was the sole dissenting Council member to vote against the [[Community Maritime Park]] project and became active in the group [[Save Our City]], which attempted to overturn the Council's decision by referendum.
 
He was defeated by [[Larry B. Johnson]] in a [[2008 runoff election]].
Married 30 years to, and recently separated from, Helene, they have a son, Ryan, and a daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Rick Johnson.
