Frank C. Hecker was an executive of the Alger-Sullivan Lumber Company known for his massive Century estate, "Tannenheim."
He was the son of Colonel Frank Joseph Hecker, a resident of Detroit and early stockholder of the Alger-Sullivan company, who commissioned the Tannenheim estate for his son, who moved there in 1901 to mind the family's business interests.
The younger Hecker was a sportsman and member of both the Pensacola Country Club and Pensacola Yacht Club. His private yacht, "Miss Sue," was used for races and recreational jaunts in the latter club and for deep-sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.
