'''Washerwoman's Creek''' (also called '''San Gabriel''' or '''Washerwoman's Bayou''') , was the commmon name during the [[British period]], of a small freshwater spring that ran through what is now [[downtown Pensacola]]. In the [[First Spanish period]] it was originally known as '''San Miguel Creek.''' Originating on at the foot of [[Gage Hill]], it (present [[North Hill]]). The creek ran southwesterly to [[Pensacola Bay]] (west of [[Barcelona Street]], near the modern-day [[Trillium property]]), serving -- now developed as the Maritime Park. This creek served as a sort of water source and western boundary to the early [[Second Spanish period|Spanish]] and [[British period|British]] settlements in that area during the eighteenth century.
