==Background==
Rodney Whatley was born in Atmore, Alabama. He graduated from Escambia County High School there in [[1982]], and went on to pursue a [[Wikipedia:Bachelor of Fine Arts|bachelor of fine arts degree]] in Theatre from the [[Wikipedia:University of Montevallo|University of Montevallo]] in [[1987]]. He obtained his [[Wikipedia:Master of Fine Arts|master of fine arts degree]] in Theatre from [[Wikipedia:Lindenwood University|Lindenwood University]] in [[1992]], and he is currently pursuing received his [[Wikipedia:Doctorate|doctorate]] from [[Wikipedia:Florida State University|Florida State University]].
