'''James A. Scoggins''' was coach of the [[Pensacola High School]] [[PHS Tigers|Tigers]] in the 1950s whose football program competed with some of the best high schools in the South and was undefeated in [[1958]] and [[1959]]. He was a four-sport athlete for the Vanderbilt Commodores and assistant to Coach [[Wikipedia:Henry Russell Sanders|Red Sanders]] before coaching at PHS. His record of 84 victories, 13 defeats and 3 ties made him one of Florida's winningest coaches for many years, but was eventually topped by Coach [[Mike Bennett]] in [[2007]].
Pensacola High School's football stadium is named for Scoggins. His  Jim was married to [[Julia Scoggins|Julia Aleen Germany Savage Scoggins]]. Their son, [[James A. Scoggins III]], founded [[Scoggins Realty]].
