Horace Jones is the former principal of Pensacola High School who was removed in 1996 for allegedly attempting to cover up the PHS football sex scandal.
==Jones as Principal==Jones was appointed principal when Principal Cone transferred to District Office in 1994. During his tenure, he presided over a number of tumultuous events including the series of bomb threats in that interrupted the 1995-96 school year as well as a sex scandal in which eight students (including seven members of the PHS Tigers football team) received oral sex from a 15-year-old special education student in a stadium locker room. They were eventually charged with lewd and lascivious assault on a child under 16. Principal Jones, himself a former NFL football player, was accused of attempting to cover up the incident to protect the members of the PHS playoff-bound football team . Superintendent Bill Maloy removed Jones from his position on June 4, 1996,
