Outzen's radio program has not aired in several years. This fact was not reflected in the article.
In [[1999]] Outzen founded a weekly tabloid, the ''Independent'', which merged with [[Joe Scarborough]]'s competing paper, the ''Florida Sun'', in [[2001]]. The name of the paper changed briefly to the ''Independent Florida Sun'' before settling on its current name.
Outzen writes a weekly column for the ''Independent News'' called "Outtakes." He is married to the former [[Cathy Outzen|Cathy Collins]] and has three daughters.
