The original location at 2900 East [[Cervantes Street]] (cater-cornered from [[Jerry's Drive-In]]) was initially an automotive service shop and Middle Eastern dishes. Its menu contained a number of vegetarian selectionswas previously occupied by several other restaurants: [[Capt'n Jim's]], [[Niyoshi's]] and many entrees were served with homemade [[Wikipedia:hummus|hummusFlorida Pizza Kitchen]] and toasted , to name a few. That location closed in September [[Wikipedia:pita|pita2008]]after a decision by the building's landlord to sell the building. After some time off, Khalil reopened at the current location.
