  • 1897 – The Army Corps of Engineers completes construction of improvements at the Navy Yard, including a battery for four 10-inch guns on disappearing carriages.[1]
  • 1975 - Southern rock music icon Lynyrd Skynyrd performed at the municipal auditorium. Opening act was Status Quo.
  • 2006AZA accreditation of The Zoo Northwest Florida is revoked after inspectors deemed 38 Zoo practices "questionable" and 24 more "unacceptable."
  • 2014 - Last day of business for Angus Seafood, Meats, Spirits.
