The Krewe of African Kings is a krewe that participates in the Mardi Gras and Fiesta of Five Flags parades and other events. It was founded in 1990 by parishioners of St. Joseph Catholic Church and held its first parade and ball in 1991. There are about 20 members, and every year they hold a New Year's party and formal ball, where a skit is performed depicting the history of an African king.
