Florida 296 begins at [[Mobile Highway]] ([[US Highway 90|US 90]]) and [[Michigan Avenue]], traveling easterly on Michigan. The roadway continues west of Mobile Highway as Escambia County Road 296 ([[Saufley Field Road]]). At [[Pipeline Road]] Michigan and Florida 296 transition onto [[Beverly Parkway]], which continues to [[Palafox Street]]. East of Palafox the roadway continues as [[Brent Lane]] until [[Springhill Drive]] where it becomes [[Bayou Boulevard]]. Florida 296 continues as Bayou Boulevard through to [[Bayou Texar]], where it takes a southerly turn, following the east bank of the bayou. Just south of [[Blount Street]], Florida 296 diverges onto [[Perry Avenue]] and continues as such to its eastern terminus at [[Cervantes Street]] ([[US Highway 90|US 90]]).
