  • 1813 – Congress authorizes the President to "take possession of a tract of country … west of the River Perdido," resulting in the capture of Mobile.
  • 1870 – The Pensacola & Barrancas Railroad Company is incorporated by a special act of the State of Florida.
  • 1981 - Rock musicians Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Mobile Municipal Auditorium.
  • 2011 - The World Yoshukai Karate Association held their 31st annual Winter Workout at the Hampton Inn on Pensacola Beach.
