Connor Mann was born and raised in the Beulah area and served as the Intern for Escambia County Commissioner Doug Underhill from September 2020 to November 2022. In 2020 he started the Podcast "The Political Spotlight" which featured local candidates for that year's election. Some of his guests included Jonathan Owens, Jeff Bergosh, Mike Hill, and Michelle Salzman. In January 2022, Mann announced his candidacy for Escambia County School Board District 1. Mann faced opposition from the County Commission following his announcement, prompting the board to introduce a law that would prohibit county employees from running for office. While the law was eventually passed, it did not restrict contracted employees. His campaign aimed to inject fresh perspectives into a board of predominantly older members, with an average age of 70 at the time. Despite Mann's best efforts, he lost the election in November, receiving only 33% of the vote. Mann, however, continues to play an active role in the community.
