- 1821 – Florida was divided by the Suwannee River into two counties: Escambia and St. Johns.
- 1864 – Battle of Fort Hodgson: 1,100 Union soldiers under Brigadier General Alexander Asboth departed Fort Barrancas to rendezvous with Sherman's Army.
- 1931 – Pensacola adopted a new charter featuring a City Manager/Council form of government.
