R. K. "Skip" Hunter is a retired insurance executive, former attorney (licensed in Alabama) and philanthropist.

In 2006, Hunter announced he would donate $1 million for the construction of a concert shell as part of the Community Maritime Park project. In 2005 he contributed $120,000 to the local United Way.[1]
He is also a member of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra board.

In May 2007, Hunter was accused of attempting to block the sale of a home in his neighborhood to a black man, Arthur Rocker. Hunter allegedly contacted several neighbors in the Bayshore Drive area and asked them to purchase a stake in the $400,000 Seamarge Circle property. These attempts had been brought to Rocker's attention by his Realtor, Dick Carr.[1]
