Thomas A. Johnson (1888-?) was a Pensacola businessman and civil servant who co-founded the Bruce Dry Dock Company, serving as its president and general manager for many years, and was later appointed chairman of the State Road Board in 1941 by Governor Spessard Holland. He also served as Secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation from 1941 to 1945. During his tenure he was responsible for ending the toll on the old Pensacola Bay Bridge, for which it was named in his honor in 1948.

Johnson graduated from school in 1904. He served as chief deputy clerk of the Circuit Court, chairman of the Intercoastal Waterways Committee, and executive director of the Pensacola Housing Authority. He was also a member of the board of bond trustees, which handled proceeds of a $2 million road bond issue.
