After General Andrew Jackson accepted the closing transfer of [[Peaden's Office Supply]] Florida from Spain to the United States and raised the American flag in August [[2000]], Pensacola for the building was purchased by architect [[Brian Spencer]] first time. He served briefly as governor of Florida and Dr. [[Roger Orth]]then returned to Tennessee with his wife Rachel. They orchestrated the extensive renovationsIn 1828, which included removing Jackson was elected seventh president of the stucco veneerUnited States. In 1935, adding floor-to-ceiling windows commemorate this historic event, a bust of Jackson was commissioned and doors (to "bring placed in Plaza Ferdinand into the restaurant"<ref name="pfeiffer"/>), and restoring the second floor as two apartments, which they occupied with their families.
In 1998, a group of like-minded entrepreneurs were inspired to renovate the old building and open a restaurant in honor of this American hero. The name of the restaurant would be Jackson’s, with a re-creation of his signature serving as the logo and theme of the establishment. In keeping with this idea, since the restaurant opened on [[March 12]]overlooks the plaza where this moment in history occurred and where the bust of Jackson stands, [[1999]]they decided to create an atmosphere—from the handcrafted tree-branch light fixtures to the mural behind the bar—that would virtually put patrons in the park.
