Sara Lewis is a former assistant principal and former principal of Pensacola High School.

Lewis as Assistant Principal[edit]

Lewis was appointed Assistant Principal of Facilities and Maintenance in 1999, and served in the position until 2001, when Norm Ross was promoted to Deputy Superintendent at District Office, and Lewis was appointed principal.

Lewis as Principal[edit]

Lewis saw many events at Pensacola High as principal, including the destruction of the gym and auditorium by Hurricane Ivan. Under her leadership (and with the help of the International Baccalaureate program), Lewis brought Pensacola High's Newsweek ranking from #188 in 2003 to #42 in 2008.

Retirement[edit]

In 2008, Lewis announced that she would be retiring at the end of the school year. It was highly questioned as to who would be her replacement. Over that summer, it was decided that David Williams, Assistant Principal of Facilities and Maintenance since 2004, would take her position.
