Around the time of his graduation, Will was discovered by [[Wikipedia:Larry Butler|Larry Butler]]. However, it was announced at the 2004 Pensacola Children's Chorus production of "''[[Showtime! 2004" ]]'' that he would be heading to Vanderbilt University to obtain a degree in electrical engineering instead of focusing on his singing career. He later spearheaded a benefit concert in Pensacola in [[2005]] to help rebuild northwest [[Rebuild Northwest Florida ]] after the destruction of [[Wikipedia:Hurricane Ivan|Hurricane Ivan]]. This concert produced over $100,000 for hurricane victims.

In the fall of [[2004]], Will began attending Vanderbilt University. There, he was a member of Original Cast, an organization that produces shows filled with numbers from Broadway musicals. It was also at Vanderbilt that Will met his manager, [[Wikipedia:Jimmy Gilmer|Jimmy Gilmer]], who introduced him to [[Wikipedia:George Collier|George Collier]], COO of Aspirion Records, who Will signed with.
