Talk:Thomas Everett Welles

Does this man have an impressive lineage or what? dscosson ··· talk 18:54, 15 June 2008 (CDT)

DisputeEdit

Pensacola’s Heritage at St John’s Historic Cemetery states that Welles "was employed by Captain T. C. Cobb of Cape Cod, Massachusetts ... Subsequently, he married Caroline Brown Cobb, Captain Cobb’s daughter".

Armstrong's History of Escambia County states "Mr. Welles was married June 24, 1882 to Carrie B. Cobb, a daughter of James and Caroline Burton Cobb, of Pensacola, Fla."

Pretty glaring conflict. At the moment I am leaning toward Armstrong's information, although I have noticed slight inaccuracies in his History of Escambia County before. His account of Welles' life seems much more detailed than the St. John's site.

Although, The St. John's site claims that the info is "according to [Welles'] grandson, Bill Langford"...

Whatcha think? dscosson ··· talk 19:28, 15 June 2008 (CDT)

You got me. I would lean towards the Armstrong text as well, as it seems to be more authoritative. I didn't see it in the links, but was this one of your sources, or does it just duplicate much of what's in Armstrong? There's also another photo. --Admin 07:34, 16 June 2008 (CDT)
That is a duplicate of the Armstrong text. dscosson ··· talk 07:46, 16 June 2008 (CDT)
