I feel it is false advertisement to say they house over 900 animals. When was the last time they counted them? I visited there a couple of weeks ago and I doubt if they have 300!

Actually, the number seems to have increased to 1,200 since we listed the 900 figure (according to their website). Keep in mind that its not the number of species, but of specimens. — admin • talk  13:29, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

The zoo page states: "On September 1, 2004, weeks after being damaged by Hurricane Ivan, control was transferred to the non-profit Gulf Coast Zoological Society." You might want to look and see when Ivan made landfall here in the panhandle as it was Sept. 16th, 2004, two weeks after' GCZS took possession of the zoo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeeperman (talkcontribs) 15:47, 15 August 2009

You're quite right, that should be "weeks before being damaged..." I'll correct. — admin • talk  16:03, 15 August 2009 (CDT)
