I just wanted to note, in reference to the claim by MAD that they are renovating... someone is renovating. If you peek inside you can clearly see work going on including paint cans, woodworking, etc. dcosson ··· talk 14:47, 25 May 2007 (CDT)

Rhodes Furniture[edit]

I assume that Rhodes moved next door (to the appropriately named Rhodes Building) around the time the Rex took over, but I need to confirm this. --Admin 08:19, 21 July 2007 (CDT)

Confirmed. --Admin 06:55, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

What is not mentioned is the operation of the Rex Rox, when in late 1987 former Franco's Lounge owner Frank Masiarczyk opened it as a teen club. His son, Chris, was the manager, Musicians Memorial owner Lisa Black was the bartender, and I was the doorman. Popular local rock band Velvet Melon performed there at least once. It closed in early April, 1988. Hallgs, Nov 2, 2014.

On Sunday, March 1, 2015 Harvest Church held their first service at the location. Hallgs, March 2, 2015.
