Palafox south of Garden

Regarding the portion of Palafox that is south of Garden -- do you have a preference between "South Palafox Street" and "Palafox Place"? I much prefer South Palafox Street but I noticed you have used both varyingly. — dscossontalk  00:58, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't really have a preference. I guess I've used whatever the current tenants use in their own materials. Palafox Place (which I think only runs from Garden to Main, then it's back to Palafox Street) could be more useful as a link if we redirect it to a section specifically about that strip, i.e. Palafox Street#Palafox Place, which would include stuff about the two-way vs. one-way traffic, etc. — admin • talk  15:54, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
You're right about the length of "Palafox Place". I'm not going to cry about it either way. Palafox Place is a superficial designation invented by the City. FDOT, the Escambia County Property Appraiser, and various other sources still consider it just "South Palafox Street". Maybe I should just lobby to get it changed back, and that'll settle the question. LOL. Either way, I guess we don't really have to establish a standard, we can use both, maybe with a note under Palafox Street regarding the two names. — dscossontalk  20:16, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Length of Palafox

Right now we have Palafox terminating northerly just north of Brent Lane, where it splits into Pensacola Boulevard (US 29) and what many call "Old Palafox" (CR 95A). However, for much of "Old Palafox" the actual designation, and the street signs read, "Palafox Street".

So -- when talking about "Old Palafox", should we call it by that name, and hence put it in a separate article, or call it Palafox Street, and add it to this one? — dscossontalk  15:12, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

I think the stretch of Palafox north of Brent is different enough that it deserves its own article. (Of course, the same thing could be said for Palafox south of, say, Cervantes, Wright or Garden.) I'm fine with either. At what point does the signage change to "Old Palafox," do you know? — admin • talk  16:56, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
