Editing Talk:Main Page

Hello. I'm using this talk page to introduce myself. I'm a new admin and since I'm new to wiki editing, my goal is to stop spammers from scaring off new users. 




What do you think about adding a "featured article" section to the main page, akin to Wikipedia?  I think we have enough articles to maintain that for a while.  Maybe weekly rotation? Nice script.  What happens when there is nothing on the on this day page for a given day? ==About us==
Joe -- a colleague of mine made the observation that we should include a better description of what Pensapedia is on the Main Page. He said that someone who comes to Pensapedia from a search engine etc. may not at first glance know what Pensapedia is about. I think that most of our visitors will probably be folks familiar with Pensacola, but he may have a point. How would you feel about adding the following (or something similar) to the lead under "Help Pensapedia Grow!":

:::Heh, good question. Obviously Pensacola/Escambia County is the main focus and deserves the most detail. Santa Rosa/Baldwin/Escambia (Alabama) is the second "tier." From Mobile to Okaloosa/Walton is the third tier, and maybe we can include limited historical info as far east as Apalachicola.
