The store was owned and operated by Emanuele (born in 1875) and Domenico (born in 1967)Stagno, brothers who were Italian immigrants. They arrived in Pensacola in early '900 from Pieve Ligure, a small town near Genoa, and worked in their store for twenty years. Mainly they were ship chandlers for boats arriving from Genoa. They belonged infact to a family of sailormen known in their country from '600. Then they went back home in Italy.
