'''Clara Louise Garnier Barkley''' was the daughter of Judge [[John Garnier]] and wife of businessman [[George W. Barkley]]. She was born in France about 1800 and married on [[June 28]], [[1822]]. George built the [[Barkley House]] overlooking [[Pensacola Bay]] about 1825 where they lived for many years.
She is buried in [[St. Michael's Cemetery]], as are her husband and three children: George, Rosa, and Catherine.
