  • 1821 – Territorial governor Andrew Jackson issues a proclamation banishing several Spanish citizens, including Marcos de Villiers and Arnaldo Guillemard, from the city.
  • 1973 - Indian Summer outdoor concert held at Five Flags Speedway, featuring musicians Wet Willie, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Albert King, Bloodrock, Lyman Slack, also King Wesley and The Rising Suns.
  • 1983 – The Crystal Ice Company building is added to the National Register of Historic Places
