Lewis was appointed Assistant Principal of Grounds Facilities and Maintenance in [[1999]], and served in the position until [[2001]], when [[Norm Ross]] was promoted to Deputy Superintendent at District Office, and Lewis was appointed principal.

In 2008, Lewis announced that she would be retiring at the end of the school year. It was highly questioned as to who would be her replacement. Over that summer, it was decided that [[David Williams]], Assistant Principal of Grounds Facilities and Maintenance since [[2004]], would take her position.
