May 10, 2012.</ref>, known for two things: "cotton and its daily newspaper." The young Outzen would later draw inspiration from Hodding Carter, II - the editor and publisher of Greenville's "Delta Democratic Times." Outzen writes a weekly column for the ''Independent News'' called "Outtakes."
