The Pensacola Railroad Company was a railroad incorporated by an act of legislature that took effect on February 27, 1877.

The road and franchises of the Pensacola & Louisville Railroad (itself the successor of the Alabama & Florida Railroad) were sold and conveyed to the Pensacola Railroad on May 6, 1878.

The line, from its terminus at Pensacola Bay to its junction with the Mobile & Montgomery Railway, plus other assets and rights with some exceptions, were sold and conveyed to the Louisville & Nashville Railroad on October 20, 1880.
