The Pensacola Civic Band is a community ensemble of more than 80 musicians who studied their instruments non-professionally or during school and wanted to continue performing.

The group was formed in spring 1971 by PJC instructor James Etherton, Escambia High School band director Laurel Brownlee and Dr. Eugene Gonzalez of the University of West Florida. The current director is Don Snowden.

The Civic Band performs an average of 6-8 concerts per year, including well-received appearances at the Evenings in Olde Seville Square. They meet for practice on Tuesday evenings at the Kennedy Rehearsal Hall on the PJC main campus.
