Palafox Street is a major north-south artery of Pensacola and serves as the dividing line for all the city's east-west streets. Palafox is also the southernmost leg of U.S. Highway 29. South Palafox (also known as Palafox Place) is one of Pensacola's most bustling retail districts. Its southern terminus is Plaza de Luna at Pensacola Bay. Its northern terminus is at Michigan Avenue, just north of the Brent Lane intersection, where the road splits into Pensacola Boulevard (Highway 29) and Old Palafox Highway.
