Malcolm Thomas

Education
After graduating from [[Tate High School]], Thomas served in the U.S. Army, with the 101st Airborne Division. Thomas later worked briefly as a homebuilder before becoming a teacher. He taught special education at Tate High School for eight years, during which time he was Escambia Teacher of the Year and a finalist for Florida Teacher of the Year. In [[1987]] he left classroom teaching to join the district administration, where he served until his election in 2008 as Superintendent. His last position with the district administration prior to taking office as Superintendent was Director of Evaluation Services.
