Lupus Support Network

The Lupus Support Network is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing advocacy and support to the more than 10,000 lupus patients living within its coverage area. Wanda Argersinger is the current executive director.

Founded in 1979 as the Northwest Florida Lupus Foundation, the group initially met at Baptist Hospital, later merging with a similar Tallahassee group and servicing the southern Alabama area as well. The name was changed in 2003 to "better reflect the areas served and the mission of the organization."

The group has eight location-specific support groups that each meet once a month. They also provide referral services, educational programs, counseling, assistance obtaining medications and with physician fees, a lending library, research funding and other resources.
