Keith Hughes was an Escambia High School student and quarterback of the "Raiders" football team. He was one of four students shot during the 1976 school riots.

It's killing the school — it's going to be like this for a long time. All the blacks on the football team, they don't want to fight. And all the whites on the football team, they don't want to fight. They just want to settle it in a good, clean vote.[1]
