'''John Juan de la Rua''' (sometimes spelled as '''John''' or '''De La Rue''') was a prominent Pensacolian of the 19th century.
La Rua served as an alderman in the city government in (at least) [[1822]], [[1825]], [[1827]], [[1828]], and [[1841]]<ref>http://fulltext6.fcla.edu/DLData/CF/FullText/fhq_3_3.txt</ref>, and as [[Mayor of Pensacola]] in [[1822]] and [[1823]].
 
He lived in an estate in the [[Gull Point]] area overlooking [[Escambia Bay]]. The estate was described in an 1822 account of a "[[patgo]]" that De la Rua hosted.
John de la Rua is buried in [[St. Michael's Cemetery]].
