'''Jonathan Owens''' was born and raised in District 1 of Escambia County and is currently served as the [[Escambia County Board of County Commissioners|Escambia County Commissioner]]'s Aide for District 2. He has served as the Commissioner's aide since Commissioner [[Doug Underhill]]'s election to this board in November of 2014. Owens owns and operates multiple small businesses throughout the county. Most notably Owens is a partial owner of [[The Elbow Room]]. In 2020 he primaried Commissioner [[Jeff Bergosh]] of District 1 and received 22.48% of the vote. Bergosh only received 38.71% of the overall vote. Owens campaigned on the county deserving better leadership. The COVID 19 pandemic broke out during the election causing some people to speculate that if election outcome would've been different if the pandemic didn't hit.
