'''John the Baptist Church''' is a historic Baptist church building located at 101 North [[10th Avenue]]. Established in [[1846]] as the '''First Baptist Colored Church''', the congregation represents the oldest continuous black church in Pensacola. The church has been located at the current site on the corner of 10th Avenue and [[Salamanca Street]] since [[1872]]. The 1872 building was destroyed by fire in [[1896]] and rebuilt the following year. The [[1897]] building was destroyed in the [[1906 hurricane]].
