Jerry Louis Maygarden was mayor of Pensacola from 1991 to 1994.

    JERRY MAYGARDEN is a public affairs consultant specializing in private fund development for nonprofit organizations. He owns and operates J.L. MAYGARDEN Co. and he is a senior policy advisor for the CAPITOL HILL GROUP in Tallahassee, Florida. For the past 3O years, Jerry served as chief development officer for several regional philanthropies including the BAPTIST HEALTH CARE CORP., SACRED HEART HEALTH SYSTEM and THE UNIVERSITY OF WEST FLORIDA foundations. He was a founder and the first president of the RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF NORTWEST FLORIDA. Jerry is a director, trustee or advisor for WEST FLORIDA HISTORIC PRESERVATION, the BANK OF PENSACOLA, the INSTITUTE FOR INNOVATIVE COMMUNITY LEARNING and the BETTER PENSACOLA FORUM. He was recently appointed to the board of directors for the FLORIDA HOUSING FINANCE CORPORATION by Governor Charlie Crist. Jerry serves on the administrative board of FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH and he recently chaired their campaign to purchase and restore Governor Edward Perry’s historic home in downtown Pensacola. Jerry is a former city councilman and mayor of PENSACOLA who also served in the FLORIDA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES as a state legislator and majority leader from 1994-2002.
