Janet Holley (b. 1951) is the current Tax Collector for Escambia County. She joined the tax collector's office in 1973 and became office manager in 1991. Following the death of Matt Langley Bell III, Governor Lawton Chiles appointed Holley as the county's first female tax collector on October 21, 1998. She was elected to the position in 2000 and again (unopposed) in 2004.

She is currently taking advantage of a loophole in retirement law that will allow her to "retire" for one month from her recently re-elected position as of Nov 30th, 2008, then return on Jan 6th, 2009 at her full pay of 132,000 USD a year as well as an additional 80,000 USD per year in retirement benefits.
