Gulf Breeze High School

Gulf Breeze High School (GBHS) is a public high school located in the city of Gulf Breeze, Florida located 5 miles south of downtown Pensacola. GBHS is the top rated high school for academics in the Pensacola metropolitan area and has been since its creation in 1971. The GBHS mascot is the Dolphin and the current principal is Danny Brothers who became principal in October 2015.

Gulf Breeze High School is divided between two campuses on opposite sides of Highway 98 in Gulf Breeze proper. The campus south of Highway 98 is the main campus and consists of 6 buildings, 3 student and faculty parking lots, 6 tennis courts, and practice fields for band and some sports. The campus to the north of Highway 98 consists of mostly athletic buildings including the field house, several storage facilities, and Dolphin Field at Gulf Breeze Stadium, the main stadium for GBHS athletic events. The GBHS campus is part of the larger Gulf Breeze Academic Plaza which also consists of Gulf Breeze Elementary School and Gulf Breeze Middle School. Directly north of Dolphin Field are the baseball and softball stadiums (Dolphin Stadium for baseball and Gulf Breeze Softball Stadium for softball).

Currently, GBHS has an enrollment of 1,650 students from Gulf Breeze, Pensacola Beach, Midway, and Tiger Point. The demographic breakdown of students is: 93% White, 3% Hispanic, 2% Asian/Pacific Islander, 1% Native American, and 1% African-American. The average class size is 28 students and there are currently 90 faculty and staff members at the school. GBHS is administered by the Santa Rosa Independent School District and is the flagship school of Santa Rosa's south county schools.

GBHS has several notable alumni including Doug Baldwin, Ashley Brown, Abigail Spencer, Ben Lively, and Jason McKie. Also, Tori Bindi, the high school swimming state champ, is a member of the class of 2016.
