Ferry Pass

Ferry Pass is a community in Northeast Pensacola. Present day Davis Highway was once named Ferry Pass Highway.

Before the Pensacola - Tallahassee Road (now Interstate 10) bridge and the "fill" bridge over to Pace were constructed over Escambia Bay, there was a ferry service that carried passengers to unknown point(s)in Santa Rosa County.

The old "Map of Escambia County" in the Escambia County Official Records Office dated November 1908 shows Ferry Pass as being located at the Tallahassee township base line at the mouth of Escambia River.
