Twenty-two fire stations are located throughout the county. Volunteer firefighters operate out of fifteen districtsstations, while career firefighters operate out of seven districts eleven stations throughout Escambia County. Five Seven of the career companies are manned 24 hours a day. While three four of the career companies operate Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., during the rest of the time volunteer companies provide fire fighting and other emergency services. ==History== In 2000, Escambia County Fire Rescue was established to add career personnel to the fire protection ranks.
