Occupation Radio personality

Chuck Smith- Radio Personality. Chuck began his radio career in Pensacola in 1975 on WBSR-1450AM. Having listened to Chris Hampton, Luke McCoy, Charlie Edwards, Thomas J.Duke, Keith Farrier, Chuck Nash, and Jeff Stevens (and more) for his first college years at The Univ of West Florida, Chuck decided to set aside a degree in Marketing and go have fun on the Radio. Program Director Chris Hampton hired Chuck who started part time, then went from overnights, to evenings and eventually to Afternoon Drive.

With a career at WBSR that ran from 1975-1979, Chuck then ended up doing Afternoon Drive On WJLQ-Q100, with his legendary side kick and traffic reporter Billy Bob, who did everything but actually cover traffic. Chuck's run at Q100 was from 1981 to 1984. Then it was on to Tampa, Nashville, St Louis and today still in Radio and voiceovers in California.

Chuck credits his career to WBSR, and the entire ensemble there, who were way ahead of their time with personality radio and where they took it, all just by having fun on the radio.
