Born in Florence, Alabama, Davis is a graduate of the University of North Alabama and the University of Montevallo with degrees in music and education. He also holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Troy University.

Davis is a former faculty member at Cokesbury UMC - School for the Arts (2008-12), Linda Young Music School in Florence, AL (2012-13), Blues Angel School of Music (2014-2016) and was the Founding Director of the Coastal Cabaret Ensemble,[2] a group of over fifty professional singers who performed at the Pensacola Little Theatre between 2009 and 2016.[3]
