The '''Pensacola City Council''' is the elected body which sets policy for serves as the legislative arm of the [[City of Pensacola]]. It also appoints the [[Pensacola City Manager|City Manager]], which implements those policiesgovernment. The Council represents the seven City is comprised of Pensacola districts with ten nine members, including the [[Mayor seven of Pensacola]] whom are elected from electoral districts and two "of whom are elected at -large" members.
The City Council elects a Council President annually who is responsible for chairing Council meetings and preparing meeting agendas. Councilmembers are nonpartisan offices and are elected to serve twofour-year termsand are elected in nonpartisan contests.
