The officers of the company, as specified in the Charter, were [[William H. Chase]], [[Walter Gregory]], [[John A. Cameron]], [[Robert Mitchell]], [[Jasper Strong]], and [[Hanson Kelly]], all of whom were also involved in other railroad endeavors, such as the [[Alabama, Florida & Georgia Railroad]].
The charter granted the company the exclusive right to construct a railroad and/or canal connecting [[Pensacola Bay]] to [[Perdido Bay]], and connecting [[Perdido Bay]] to [[Big Lagoon]].
