The Escambia County Fire Rescue is the fire protection arm of the Escambia County. The current Escambia County Fire Rescue Fire Chief is Frank Edwards.
Escambia County Fire Rescue proudly operates as a combination fire service, utilizing the talents and diversities of volunteer and career fire fighting personnel. Volunteer firefighters operate out of fifteen districts, while career firefighters operate out of seven districts throughout Escambia County. Five of the career companies are manned 24 hours a day. While two of the career companies operate Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., during the rest of the time volunteer companies provide fire fighting and other emergency services.
