Pastor Godfrey, Jr. was saved in 1972 in Montgomery, Alabama. He began preaching a year later. His full time ministry started in 1979 in Panama City, Florida, at Central Baptist Church. After assuming the role of Sunday School Administrator in 1984, the Sunday school grew from 350 to 1500 in six years. In 1991, he became Pastor of Fundamental Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. The church experienced rapid growth and soon outgrew the buildings. The church voted to relocate and changed the name to Marcus Pointe Baptist Church. Since 1991, the average weekly attendance has climbed from 63 to more than 1400. The church has averaged more than 500 salvations and 350 new members a year for more than 24 years. He and his wife June have three grown children: Becky Meredith and her husband Keith, Greg and his wife Brittany, and Bobby and his wife Aly. June and Pastor have 6 grandchildren. Pastor Godfrey loves spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. His goal in ministry is to connect people to God, to one another, and to a lost world.
